SILENCE / Our Story

It started with a question.

“Dad, could we make our own goalkeeper gloves?”

A simple question from Barnaby. But the more we thought about it, the more sense it made.

Recognised by those that know.

The beginning

So we decided to make our own.

We had spent enough time around goalkeeper gloves to know what we liked — and what we didn't.

The idea wasn't to make another glove simply because we could. It was to build something around the experience of being a goalkeeper: from choosing the right size and opening the box to the way the glove fits, feels and performs on the pitch.

That thinking became SILENCE.

01 / Fit

The fit came first.

Goalkeeper gloves can look incredible and still not feel right. For us, that was the frustration.

Too much room in the fingers. Too much material around the hand. A glove that feels like it has been designed around a generic size rather than the goalkeeper wearing it.

We wanted something closer. More precise. A glove that felt connected to the hand rather than simply strapped around it.

That became the starting point for Foundation 01.

02 / Designed for reality

Blackout, for a reason.

Foundation 01 was always going to be black.

Not just because it looked good.

A huge amount of youth football is played on artificial pitches. Anyone who spends enough time on 3G knows the black rubber crumb gets everywhere — and it has a habit of leaving its mark on lighter gloves.

Rather than fight the environment goalkeepers actually play in, we designed around it.

A blackout glove. Understated by design. Made for the pitches goalkeepers actually play on.

CALM / IN / CHAOS

Design should have a reason to exist. Even when the answer looks simple.

03 / The experience

The glove is only part of it.

We never wanted SILENCE to simply be a logo on a goalkeeper glove. The product matters. So does everything that happens around it.

01

Unboxing

From the packaging to the first time the glove is handled, the experience should feel considered.

02

Fit

Clear sizing guidance and the option to try a fit sample at home help remove uncertainty before a new pair is opened.

03

Wear

Products should be designed around how goalkeepers actually train and play — not just how they look in a photograph.

04

Afterwards

Care guidance, useful content and the tools around the product matter long after checkout.

04 / Tested where it matters

Built with a goalkeeper.

Barnaby has been involved from the beginning.

He has tested prototypes, worn them in training and matches, challenged the things that didn't feel right and helped shape the design of our first glove.

That matters to us.

SILENCE products should begin with the goalkeeper, be tested by goalkeepers and earn their place in the kit bag.

05 / Foundation 01

One glove. On purpose.

We deliberately started with one glove.

Not ten colourways. Not a range built simply to fill a website. One product that could establish what SILENCE should feel like.

Foundation 01 is exactly that.

Where SILENCE goes next

No unnecessary noise.

Gloves are only part of the goalkeeper experience. Sometimes making that experience better means another product. Sometimes it means a guide, a fitting service or a tool built for goalkeepers.

The principle stays the same: make things we believe should exist — and make them properly.
